New backstage footage shows Undertaker apologising to Roman Reigns for his performance in their match at WrestleMania 33

Back at the climax of WrestleMania 33, The Undertaker really thought he had just wrestled his last match.

The Deadman had lost his second WrestleMania match in 25 as Roman Reigns claimed the one, two, three over him.

Was it a good match? In the words of The Undertaker himself, he was ‘disgusted’ watching it back.

Fans thought the Undertaker looked his age for the first time. The immortal persona seemed to have run its course to many.

The Phenom laid his hat and trench coat down in the ring to suggest we had seen the last of him, and that was the plan until he was able to have hip surgery and feel like the old Deadman again.

On The Undertaker’s five-part mini-series on the WWE Network, The Last Ride, it follows the legendary grappler during the past three years of his career.

talkSPORT was able to get a preview of the second episode that is set to drop this Sunday and there was a special interaction between ‘Taker and Reigns after Undertaker’s comeback match against John Cena at WrestleMania 34.

After Undertaker came back through the curtain, he saw Reigns backstage and had to tell him something that had been bothering him.

Roman Reigns: You look great man!

Undertaker: I felt so bad about last year. I just want you to know, that bothers me.

Roman Reigns: No, no…

Undertaker: I didn’t have it, you know that.

Although the rest of the conversation drops off, you can still see them interacting under Cena’s words. All smiles, they both embrace and shake hands to finish their conversation.

Cena was saying: “Someone like Undertaker, who gives his life, from good times and very bad times in this business, feels a certain way when he could have done better. Which is a shame, because we all love him because he’s the Undertaker. I hope from this day forward he understands who he is and I hope he appreciates it.”

It was nice to see Reigns tell Undertaker he didn’t have to be sorry, but equally nice to see the seven-time world champion take the responsibility and approach Reigns directly.
