Shakur Stevenson will reportedly face Rafael Rivera behind closed doors on Tuesday, June 9 in Las Vegas to mark the return of boxing in America.
The sport has been on hold since mid-March due to the coronavirus pandemic with Stevenson’s original world title defence against Miguel Marriaga one of the first bouts to be cancelled.

Therefore, according to The Athletic, it’s being planned for him to be the first to return.
It’s claimed that the WBO featherweight champion won’t be defending his belt against Rivera though.
Instead, the fight is likely to be a non-title affair, potentially in the super-featherweight division.
Promoter Bob Arum explained that their plan will be to stage two events per week initially.
The fights will be behind closed doors at an MGM hotel in Las Vegas.
Arum said: “We usually do nine-fight cards.
“Now we’ll cut it down to four or five, probably five a card. Doing ten in the course of a week is not usual for us except it won’t be on the same day.”
