Boxing legend Evander Holyfield has reassured everyone that he does, in fact, have two ears following his infamous fight against Mike Tyson in 1997.
In a rivalry which could soon be rekindled, Tyson produced one of boxing’s most shocking moments by biting off a chunk of Holyfield’s ear and leaving it on the canvas during their second bout.
The pair have made headlines in recent days by simultaneously announcing their return to the ring, fuelling rumours of a potential trilogy fight, albeit in an exhibition environment for charity.
Both men have released impressive training videos – and 57-year-old Holyfield even admitted he would be open to the prospect of another fight with 53-year-old Tyson.
However, Holyfield’s return has also sparked a series of memes on social media about his right ear.
One user even suggested he would struggle to wear a face mask amid the coronavirus pandemic.
‘The Real Deal’ was able to see the funny side, though, and posted a brilliant response on his Instagram page.
He said: “How ’bout this, look at this [showing the meme].
“They act like I only have one ear! I have two, let me show you.”
The former heavyweight champion then put on a face mask to demonstrate his point, before urging everyone to stay safe.
