With a UFC heavyweight title shot on the horizon, Ngannou has a huge 2020 ahead of him and a fight against either Stipe Miocic or Daniel Cormier beckons.

But for Rozenstruik, it is back to the drawing board after his first defeat in MMA.

Thankfully, the 32-year-old has fully recovered from the savage beating and took to social media to thank Ngannou for taking the fight.

He wrote: “I’m okay! Big up Francis Ngannou for taking the fight. Respect.”

Given the depth of talent on the card, it was somewhat surprising to see such an exciting heavyweight clash so early on in the night.

But the rest of the card truly delivered as Henry Cejudo stopped Dominick Cruz to retain his bantamweight before retiring at the age of just 33.

Elsewhere, the co-main event saw Justin Gaethje deliver an equally stunning performance to stop Tony Ferguson in the fifth and final round after a brutal display of striking.
