FA Cup fourth round RESULTS: Bilic returns to haunt West Ham, Southampton force replay with Tottenham, Chelsea edge past Hull

Slaven Bilic returned to pile more misery on his former club West Ham as ten-man West Brom knocked the Hammers out of the FA Cup with a 1-0 victory at the London Stadium.

Conor Townsend’s ninth-minute stunner was enough to send the Championship leaders into the fifth round despite Semi Ajayi’s red card with 18 minutes remaining.

On this evidence, you wouldn’t bet against the two clubs swapping divisions come May.

Elsewhere, Sofiane Boufal blocked Tottenham’s path to the fifth round with a late equaliser in the 1-1 draw at St Mary’s.

Heung-min Son put Spurs in front against their in-form Premier League rivals, but Boufal’s 87th minute strike forces a replay at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

In arguably the biggest shock of the day, Newcastle drew a blank at home to League One Oxford United in a 0-0 draw at St James’ Park.

The Magpies will need another replay, following their draw Rochdale in the third round, thanks to a brave display from the Yellows.

Earlier in the day, Leicester edged past Championship high-fliers Brentford with a narrow 1-0 victory courtesy of Kelechi Iheanacho’s early goal.

Meanwhile, goals from Michy Batshuayi and Fikayo Tomori either side of half-time secured a 2-1 win for Chelsea at Hull.

Kamil Grosicki pulled one back for the Tigers with a deflected free-kick in the 78th minute, but the Blues held on for the win.
