In the opening round, Eubank Jr endured something of a rough time against his tricky Russian-American foe.

As some prophesised, Korobov troubled the 30-year-old early on and was able to land his left hand at will.

However, in the second round he overextended one straight left, winced in pain and instantly knew he was in trouble.

After trying to fight on for a further ten seconds, Korbov turned away and stopped boxing.

The bout was called of as a result of his subsequent consultation with ringside doctors, who saw his pain deemed him unable to continue.

“I felt like I was literally just about to start getting my swag on,” said Eubank Jr, who was declared the winner after the ending.

“He just turned around and stopped.

“Looks like something happened with his shoulder, I don’t know.

“There’s nothing to take from the fight, I threw like three or four punches, I was just warming up.

“I’m the winner, I’m gonna go forward and challenge for these belts.

“This isn’t the dream that I had, but 2020, super active.”
