Premier League RESULTS: Arsenal and Tottenham lose more ground on top four, Chelsea win again, Everton beat Southampton

Arsenal and Tottenham’s bids to reach next season’s Champions League are already in jeopardy with both north London clubs failing to win on Saturday.

The Gunners suffered a 2-0 defeat to high-flyers Leicester to leave them eight points off the top four.

Second half strikes from Jamie Vardy and James Maddison gave Brendan Rodgers’ side the deserved win in a game which saw the under-fire Gunners get outclassed.

Meanwhile, Tottenham are even further behind with their miserable run in the Premier League continuing as they could only manage a 1-1 draw at home to Sheffield United.

Spurs have now gone FIVE games in the league without a win, with George Baldock cancelling out Heung-min Son’s opener despite VAR controversy.

The video assistant referee controversially chalked off an earlier equaliser from the Blades – in what was probably the tightest call of the season – and they took a look at Baldock’s effort too.

But after replays showed there was no touch from Chris Basham, the goal was allowed to stand, ensuring Chris Wilder’s men remain unbeaten in their last five games.

Elsewhere, a howler from West Ham goalkeeper Roberto summed up their dismal performance in a 3-0 battering at Burnley.

Ashley Barnes and Chris Wood completed the scoring for the hosts to condemn the Hammers to a sixth straight game without a victory.

Southampton are another team in disarray and their torrid form continued with a 2-1 defeat to fellow strugglers Everton.

Tom Davies and Richarlison eased the pressure on Toffees boss Marco Silva to render Danny Ings’ equaliser meaningless for Saints, who are now on a seven-match run without a win.

Newcastle came from behind to beat Bournemouth 2-1 thanks to goals from DeAndre Yedlin and Ciaran Clark. Harry Wilson gave the visitors the lead from a well-worked Cherries corner.

And in the day’s early kick-off, Chelsea registered their seventh straight league win with a 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace, the goals coming from Tammy Abraham and Christian Pulisic.
