Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed Manchester United will be without defender Victor Lindelof for Thursday night’s Europa League clash against Partizan Belgrade at Old Trafford.
Lindelof is the latest injury casualty for the Red Devils after suffering a re-occurrence of a back injury he first sustained against AZ Alkmaar last month in Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Bournemouth.
“He won’t be fit for tomorrow. He got a knock against Chelsea and he didn’t come through the game against Bournemouth without a reaction,” Solskjaer said.
Meanwhile, the manager also revealed midfielder Paul Pogba is likely to return to his first-team squad next month.
The France international said on French television at the weekend he hoped to be out of his cast within the next 10 days.
“I think he said it himself,” Solskjaer responded when asked about Pogba.
“He won’t be too long before he he’s out of his cast, he’ll work through the international break and hopefully we’ll have him back in early December.”
United left-back Luke Shaw, who has been out with a hamstring injury since August, was back on the grass on Wednesday but training away from the squad, while Eric Bailly, Diogo Dalot, Angel Gomes, Nemanja Matic and Axel Tuanzebe all remain absent.
