Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris was in agony after suffering a horror elbow injury during the Premier League clash with Brighton on Saturday.
The Spurs captain was administered oxygen and stretchered off after landing awkwardly on his left arm inside the opening three minutes at the Amex.
Lloris dropped the ball on his goal-line and fell into the net, allowing Brighton’s Neal Maupay to score as Spurs endured the worst possible start to the game.
Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea tweeted his support to his fellow Premier League shot-stopper, tweeting ‘Lloris’ with a prayer emoji.
Spurs looked shell-shocked following their 7-2 thrashing by Bayern Munich on Wednesday and Lloris’ injury came from another howler.
Following his attempted Cruyff turn against Southampton last week, the France goalkeeper attempted to catch a routine cross from Pascal Gross, which really ought to have been tipped over the bar.
And Spurs’ afternoon went from bad to worse after Aaron Connolly doubled Brighton’s lead on 32 minutes to heap pressure on Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino.
