Teenager Gabriel Martinelli scored twice while Joe Willock also got on the scoresheet.

Defenders Hector Bellerin and Kieran Tierney played the full 90 minute as they have returned to full fitness following injury.

Next up for Arsenal in the Premier League are Bournemouth who have enjoyed a strong start to the season.

They are just one point behind Unai Emery’s side after the first seven games of the season.

Alexandre Lacazette remains out with injury later this month and Bukayo Saka has impressed in his stead.

Nicolas Pepe continues to struggle in the early part of the season and has several youngsters snapping at his heals such as Martinelli and Willock.

Emery is likely to stick with the £72million signing and hope he can start adapting to the Premier League.

Lucas Torreira started against Manchester United but he has not impressed and the creativity of Dani Ceballos is likely to be preferred.

Bellerin and Tierney’s return to fitness is good news for Arsenal and they could be given their first look at Premier League action against Bournemouth before the international break.

Mesut Ozil is unlikely to feature as the Gunners’ highest paid player remains out of favour with Emery.

“I am thinking every time to decide with the best players for each match and the best players in the squad to play and help us,” Emery said after the Europa League victory.

“When I decided he isn’t in the squad, it is because I think another player deserves it more.

“Sunday we have another match. And we are going to decide the same.

“The best first 11 possible to achieve our target to win on Sunday and also adapt to that difficult of playing Bournemouth.

“[We want to] carry on our way that is the same in each match.”
