Tottenham will kick-off their Champions League title tilt with a trip to sunny Greece and a clash with Olympiakos this evening.

Spurs, who beat Crystal Palace 4-0 in the league on Saturday, were beaten finalist in Europe’s elite competition last term.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men lost 2-0 to Liverpool in the final in Madrid and will be eager to go one better this time around.

Tottenham suffered defeats in their opening two group games last season and know they can’t afford to do so again with Bayern Munich and Red Star Belgrade awaiting.

The north Londoners begin their 2019/20 campaign by taken on Olympiakos and the game is set for some tricky condition with temperatures of 30C expected at kick-off.

Mauricio Pochettino: “It was a long period after the final in Madrid and of course being honest I was thinking a lot during the summer. Losing in the final, always you can’t put out the feeling.

“You have to wait until you start again. It’s another massive challenge for us.

“Exciting to start a new campaign and here in Greece. It’s going to be an unbelievable atmosphere as well.

“It’s so early to start talking about the final. The most important thing is to talk about our squad quality.

“I don’t care if because we reached the final people think we are a contender again. It’s only to try to be focused tomorrow on trying to win and starting in a good way.”

Olympiakos vs Tottenham: Team news

Giovani Lo Celso and Juan Foyth are both out of the match while there remains doubts over Davinson Sanchez, Kyle Walker-Peters and Ryan Sessegnon.

Dele Alli and Tanguy Ndombele started on the bench against Crystal Palace so may come into the starting eleven.

Danny Rose and Serge Aurier have not travelled to Greece.
