Phillip Cocu tore into the attitude of his Derby players following their resounding defeat at Brentford on Saturday.
Brentford raced to a 3-0 lead in the first-half thanks to Bryan Mbeumo’s goal and a brace from Ollie Watkins.
The Rams improved after the break but the damage was already done by then and Cocu’s men suffered their second league defeat of the season.
And after the game, Cocu didn’t hold back – labelling his players ‘arrogant’.
Cocu said: “I’m mostly disappointed with the attitude we had in all of the first-half.
“It’s like an arrogance based on nothing – we have to work hard because we’re not in a position where we’re top of the league so your attitude and press you show on the pitch is really important.
“But if you don’t start well then it’s really hard to play good football and there were so many mistakes on the ball.”

The result leaves Derby in 19th spot and just two points above the relegation zone after six games.
They haven’t won since the opening weekend which was against Huddersfield Town – who are joint bottom of the table with Stoke City.
It’s a particularly bad start for Derby considering they almost got promoted to the Premier League last season but lost to Aston Villa in the Championship play-off final.
And Cocu said his players must not put out a display like they did against Brentford again.
He added: “This cannot happen again – not for the team, not for the club.
“Our fans travel a long way to see the team and we cannot show in any game and the rest of the season what we showed today.”
