Manchester United star Paul Pogba sends positive message in response to racism after meeting Deontay Wilder

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba posted a positive message of solidarity in response to racism when he met WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder.

France’s World Cup winning star received vile abuse after missing a penalty at Wolves last week and has since spoken out against the vitriol.

Following Saturday’s defeat to Crystal Palace, Pogba met Wilder, an Alabama native who has frequently spoken out about his experiences with racism.

Last year before his fight with Tyson Fury, the 33-year-old furiously shouted at a journalist about the subject in what has subsequently been received as an iconic speech.

Wilder declared he and his people are still fighting ‘til this day’ – a catchphrase that has since swept the planet.

My ancestors and my parents suffered for my generation to be free today, to work, to take the bus, to play football. Racist insults are ignorance and can only make me stronger and motivate me to fight for the next generation. #SayNoToRacism
