Barca want to bring their former player back the Nou Camp this summer, but Neymar’s incredible price tag has proved a huge hurdle.
Marca claim Barcelona offered to take the unsettled forward – who has not featured for PSG this season – initially on loan with the option to buy him permanently next summer for €150million.
But the Ligue 1 champions are believed to value Neymar at closer to €250m, and also want assurances from the LaLiga winners that they will definitely sign the player at the end of the season.
Talks between the clubs are not over, with both still in dialogue over a potential deal before the September 2 transfer deadline.

But Barcelona’s chances of landing their former star have been hampered by their own spending this summer – with big-money deals for Antoine Griezmann and Frenkie de Jong meaning they will have to balance their books before they can gather the funds for Neymar.
PSG, meanwhile, want cash to held refresh their squad, so will not accept any cut-price offers.
Neymar is desperate to leave the Parisian club just two seasons after his world-record €222m switch from the Nou Camp.
He has made it clear he wants to move back to Spain and he has been left out of the club’s first two Ligue 1 fixtures, which included a shock defeat to Rennes.
PSG have also erased all signs and imagery of the Brazilian posterboy from their official club shop, while fans were heard chanting, ‘Neymar, hijo da puta’, which translates to, ‘Neymar, you son of a b****’, during their league opener.
Barcelona isn’t his only possible destination, with Real Madrid waiting in the wings as they aim to add another Galactico to their squad.
Juventus are also interested in the Brazilian and could reportedly use Paulo Dybala as a bargaining chip.
