Jesus was denied a late winner and couldn’t contain his frustration

The scenes as the goal was chalked off were reminiscent of the dramatic ending to last season’s Champions League tie between the two sides at the same venue last season.

And it was clear Jesus’ emotion was getting the better of him moments after the final whistle when appeared to shout “VAR is s***” while being comforted by Spurs striker Harry Kane.

Have a look at the incident below…

The ruling made the encounter extra frustrating for City, who had completely dominated proceedings and racked up 30 shots to the visitors’ three.

City manager Pep Guardiola had earlier appeared to take out his frustration on his star striker Sergio Aguero, having angry words as he substituted him after the hour.

The 31-year-old was visibly irritated after being replaced by Jesus and he was seen confronting Guardiola on the sidelines.

The City chief appeared to give as good as he got and hit back at Aguero once he had sat down on the bench.

The incident dragged on for an awkward amount of time and it is suggested Guardiola was unhappy with Aguero for not leaving the field at the nearest point as the hosts sought a winner.

However, Guardiola played down the incident and revealed the touchline spat came over Aguero’s position during Moura’s equaliser from a corner.

He said: “Aguero believed I was upset with him for the goal we conceded. The goal we conceded was a corner.

“I wanted one on one movement. He thought I was upset with him. Emotion is part of our game. We talked after and during. He’s a guy I love a lot.”
