Neymar transfer to Barcelona stalls as Paris Saint-Germain officials reportedly unhappy with first meeting

Officials from Spain have travelled to France to discuss a return to La Liga for the 27-year-old, who left Barcelona in 2017 for a huge £198million fee, making him the most expensive footballer of all time.

According to ESPN, there has been no breakthrough on a deal between the two sides, with PSG understood to have told their European rivals they want Philippe Coutinho, Nelson Semedo and €120m to part with Neymar, while Barca’s best offer so far is Coutinho, Ivan Rakitic and €80m.

There will be another meeting between the pair on Thursday during UEFA’s European Club Association gathering.

Neymar did not feature in PSG’s 3-0 opening weekend victory over Nimes and supporters vented their anger at the player by holding up banners telling him to ‘get lost’.
