All Elite Wrestling exclusive: Tony Khan and SCU reveal AEW’s exciting plans for the UK

All Elite Wrestling took the world by storm last night and announced themselves in a way that few before them would only have dreamed of.

From top to bottom the card featured fantastic, entertaining action and for the first time since WCW many might argue, AEW is a real alternative to the WWE.

For UK fans, it seems like things are about to get even better.

SCU opened up Doube or Nothing with a fantastic performance of their own and the trio of Frankie Kazarian, Christopher Daniels and Scorpio Sky are well known to many hardcore wrestling fans.

Speaking ahead of the event, SCU – SoCal Uncensored – told talkSPORT that they believe AEW will be hosting pay-per-views and many other shows in the UK.

“I think when you look at who is involved and you look at somebody like a Tony Khan who has heavy ties to the UK and London specifically, I think that it is a foregone conclusion,” Kazarian said. “And one thing that we want to do is be different. And to be different, you take your product to the people. You don’t necessarily make the people come to you. You take it to where the fans are.

“And I think the whole mindset of the company from the office people down the wrestlers is the same. We want to take this everywhere, but especially to a fanbase that is as passionate and as loyal as the UK fans and we’d love to do a pay-per-view.

“We’d love to do a Starrcast, I’d love to do a cigar event, a jam session; let’s do everything we’re doing over here in Vegas and do it in the UK. And I think it will happen.”

We also caught AEW owner Tony Khan after the event and he told us that they will definitely be coming to the UK. While an arena is not booked yet and a date is not set, it’ certainly in their plans. Hopefully, Khan will break that news with us.

Of course, Khan spends plenty of time in London with Fulham – who he owns a part of – and the WWE have not had a main roster PPV in the UK for nearly 20 years. It’s a market AEW are keen to exploit.

talkSPORT has attended Starrcast II and Double or Nothing in conjunction with Wrestling Travel, the market leading travel company for wrestling fans and the biggest events. Learn more about Wrestling Travel HERE.
