Pep Guardiola’s ‘emotional and touching’ team talks have been the driving force behind another incredible Manchester City title story, Kyle Walker has revealed.
Guardiola’s men kept their nerve to see off Brighton on the final day and pip Liverpool to the Premier League title – the first time in their history that they have won back-to-back titles.
Guardiola has constantly reiterated to his players the message to ‘Never Give Up’ throughout the season, with a second consecutive title looking unlikely at the turn of the year with Jurgen Klopp’s men seven points clear.
However, City staged a stunning fightback – winning their last 14 games to seal their fourth Premier League crown.
And this Saturday City will get the opportunity to make it an unprecedented domestic treble by winning the FA Cup final at Wembley.
England defender Walker gave an insight into his boss’s methods in a recent interview.
He said: “I don’t want to go too much into detail on his team talks but sometimes it is emotional because he puts everything into it.
“He remembers everything. He dedicates certain games to certain players. We go through it all
“He puts his all into every single game – his speeches, his emotions – they are touching sometimes.

“But what he’s said before pretty much all games is that the key thing is to never give up.”
An example Walker used was when midfield maestro David Silva’s baby was born very prematurely – but then won his battle.
He added: “When David was going through the certain things that he went through last season it was emotional for us all.
“We are one family here and what David was suffering we were suffering as well.”
