Christian Benteke gave the away side a 1-0 lead at half-time, but Mesut Ozil drew the hosts level shortly after the break.
Diaster then struck for Unai Emery’s men as Wilfried Zaha and James McArthur both scored with in the space of eight minutes to put Palace in a commanding position.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang gave Arsenal hope late on, but his goal turned out be a mere consolation.
