John Cen’s cryptic Instagram post suggests he will retire Kurt Angle at WrestleMania 35

Way back in 2002, John Cena made his debut against Kurt Angle in WWE on SmackDown.

However, he’s not doing it until he’s had one last dance at WrestleMania.

Angle announced in his hometown of Pittsburgh on Monday during Raw that he would be having his retirement match at WrestleMania 35 in New Jersey on April 7.

However, he did not announce who that match would be against.

John Cena posted on Instagram the next day and seemed to hint that he would indeed poetically answer that call.

Cena was originally scheduled to face Lars Sullivan at WrestleMania but a panic attack for the NXT prospect has left him sidelined while he collects himself.

The 16-time world champion is yet to find an opponent but rumours are now swirling that he will indeed face Angle.

It’s also worth noting that while Cena had his debut against Angle, he also inducted the former Olympic gold medallist into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2017.

It would make the world of sense and give Angle the fitting send-off that Ric Flair – also a 16-time world champion – was given against Shawn Michaels back at WrestleMania 24.

The card is shaping up nicely now. Batista an Triple H has been confirmed, as has the triple-threat of Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey.
