Mesut Ozil has taken a swipe at Jesse Lingard following Arsenal’s Premier League victory over Manchester United on Sunday.
The Gunners leapfrogged United into fourth place with their 2-0 victory thanks to goals from Granit Xhaka and Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang.
It’s also a sweet piece of revenge for Arsenal after the Red Devils knocked out them out of the FA Cup in their own backyard in January.
United midfielder Lingard was among the scorers in the cup tie and did a moonwalk dance to celebrate the strike.
It was a dance that would have rubbed Gooners the wrong way and judging by Ozil’s latest tweet, Arsenal players were not happy with Lingard’s exploits too.
And although Lingard wasn’t playing in the league match due to injury, Ozil tweeted: “Dancefloor huh?
“Superb performance! Brilliant result! Thank you Emirates Stadium. Proud to be a Gunner!”
Romelu Lukaku nearly gave United the lead but hit the crossbar from close range and the course of the game changed when Xhaka’s swerving effort deceived David de Gea before flying into the net.
From that point, Unai Emery’s men were the better team and they doubled their lead when Aubameyang calmly slotted his penalty home after Fred was adjudged to have fouled Alexandre Lacazette.
