Tottenham new stadium latest: Name claimed as ‘Nike Stadium’, UEFA inspecting ground ahead of Champions League quarter-finals

Tottenham have denied reports their new stadium will be called the ‘Nike Stadium’.

Richard Keys shared the name on his and Andy Gray’s beIN SPORTS show, while also revealing UEFA are inspecting the still unopened arena ahead of its potential use in this season’s Champions League quarter-finals.

Tottenham’s new stadium is expected to open over the next few weeks

“There is a UEFA inspection going on at the new White Hart Lane to see whether it can host a Champions League quarter-final the week of April 8,” Keys said. “I believe the first league game will be played on April 6 against Brighton.

“And that stadium, I can exclusively reveal, will be called the Nike Stadium.”

The name was revealed in a beIN Sports video on Twitter

The Twitter video revealing the name has since been deleted.

Tottenham deny the reports, with a source telling the Mail the name is incorrect.

The ground was due to open last September but various delays have pushed the date back. There were even fears Spurs may have to play the remainder of this season at Wembley, their temporary home, but these have been allayed with the north Londoners now expected to play their final five home Premier League fixtures at the new ground.
