It seems that WrestleMania season has also become contract season for the WWE and they are getting more bad news than good.
Let’s dive into the rumours that are swirling around the wrestling business:
More on The Usos contracts running out
Yesterday it was reported that the WWE were getting increasingly worried that The Usos would not sign a new deal with the company.
According to Fightful, Jimmy and Jey Usos deals are up at the end of April, just after WrestleMania and the International Superstar Shakeup. It’s not clear what the Usos are holding out for.
SmackDown Live won’t stay on Friday night on Fox?
Fox Entertainment CEO Charlie Collier was speaking during a press session at the Television Critics Association press tour yesterday and said when asked about Last Man Standing “Short term, Friday night is going to WWE.”
SmackDown drew it’s lowest rating since the brand split in 2016 on Tuesday night with fans seemingly turning off in their droves after the opening segment with Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair and Triple H.
Dolph Ziggler not done with WWE?
PW Insider say that the former two-time world champion still has a ‘relationship’ with WWE.
With the exception of the Royal Rumble, Ziggler has been off WWE TV for 2019 as plans seemingly wind down for him, but he will remain associated with the company in some capacity, just not a full-time in-ring talent.
Roman Reigns was meant to face Dean Ambrose at WM35
According to Dave Meltzer, before his luekemia diagnosis, Roman Reigns was set to work with former Shield brother Dean Ambrose at WrestleMania 35.
Ambrose was always meant to turn heel upon his return, but plans were move forward and switched to Rollins once Reigns’ health became apparent.
WrestleMania plans for Batista, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn
Mike Johnson of PW Insider believes that the Triple H Vs Batista match is off at WrestleMania saying he has heard nothing on it and the Animal is filming the Dune remake.
As for Owens and Zayn, one would think that the WWE are desperate for the Canadian pair to save their tag team division on Raw, but Johnson suggests that WWE would rather give them fresh stories after WrestleMania.
