Kell Brook next fight: Sheffield man targeted for UK world title fights by American champions Jarrett Hurd and Tony Harrison

Kell Brook is being eyed as a potential opponent by two of America’s super-welterweight world champions.

The British former 147lbs king moved up to 154lbs following his title loss to Errol Spence in 2017, but has since stated that he wants to move back down in weight for a huge domestic clash with Amir Khan.

It is currently unclear whether Khan will take this fight or instead opt for a US alternative against pound-for-pound star Terence Crawford.

However, should Brook’s first choice collapse, he now has two potentially alluring bouts on the table at super-welterweight, as world champions Jarrett Hurd and Tony Harrison have expressed interest in fighting him.

Unified champion Hurd actually beat Harrison to claim his first belt in 2017, before then unifying titles with a narrow victory over Erislandy Lara.

When asked about a potential Kell Brook fight, Hurd told ThaBoxingVoice: “Of course we’d go over to the UK.

“I’m trying to be all over the world so we would definitely like to fight in the UK.

“I know how the fight would play out with him, we can’t leave it up to the judges in his hometown.

“If we did fight in the UK, I’m going over there for the knockout.”

Tony Harrison upset Jermell Charlo to take the WBC title

Following his defeat to Jarrett Hurd, Tony Harrison rebuilt and earned a second shot against WBC champion Jermell Charlo.

On December 22, Harrison beat Charlo by controversial, unanimous decision and it appears a rematch is now in the works.

Despite this, the new champion has his own ideas and, when asked about his future plans, Harrison stated: “For me, now that I’m on this stage it’s world championship fights.

“It’s either Hurd. Or, if it’s not Hurd, it’s Charlo.

“And, if it’s not Charlo, it’s somebody like going overseas to make that money and fight somebody like Kell Brook.

“If I go to the UK, there’s only one guy. One guy only that we’re talking about and nobody else.

“I’m telling y’all, I’m not shying away from anyone.”
