Liverpool star Joe Gomez is nearing his return to the first-team fold but is still a couple of weeks away yet.
The Reds felt the absence of their key defender in last night’s 2-1 Premier League defeat to title challengers Manchester City.
Dejan Lovren was turned by Sergio Aguero for City’s opener and Jurgen Klopp will no doubt be eager to partner Virgil van Dijk with Gomez again soon.
The two formed a formidable duo before the England ace suffered a leg injury in the 3-1 win at Burnley on December 5.
Gomez has missed the entire festive schedule and won’t be fit for Monday’s FA Cup tie at Wolves and the league trip to Brighton next weekend.
But Klopp should be able to call upon the 21-year-old when Liverpool welcome Crystal Palace to Anfield on January 19.
