James DeGale and Chris Eubank Jr will fight on February 23 at the O2 Arena, it was officially announced on Thursday.
The UK super-middleweights are finally set to meet after months of behind the scenes negotiations and years of bitter rivalry before that.
Angry words have been publicly exchanged back-and-forth between the pair, stemming from a dispute over a sparring session that took place several years ago.
Upon the announcement of the fight James DeGale declared: “Really excited and looking forward to being back home to a fight of this magnitude.
“I believe Eubank doesn’t have the pedigree, the size and skill to beat me.
“Eubank is a decent fighter but every time he has stepped up he has been found out. He has called my name for a long time so now I’ve finally got my chance to zip his lips.”
Chris Eubank Jr responded: “DeGale is going to get the schooling of his career. A good old-fashioned hiding.”
ITV’s Box Office pay-per-view channel will broadcast the bout as part of their deal with Al Haymon’s Premier Boxing Champions, who are behind the event alongside promoters Poxon Sports.
There will be no significant belts on the line for this fight, as DeGale vacated his IBF super-middleweight world title last summer having recently regained it from Caleb Truax.
The Brit opted to drop the strap and seek out bigger paydays as he nears the end of his career – rather than take on rough mandatory challenger Jose Uzcategui.

Eubank Jr meanwhile has never been a recognised world champion, though did hold the lesser IBO belt for a year, before he was beaten by George Groves just under a year ago.
James DeGale was last seen in a tune-up KO3 win over Fidel Monterrosa Munoz in September, while Chris Eubank Jr returned against JJ McDonagh with a third round stoppage of his own on the same weekend.
