Wayne Rooney will be at Old Trafford to watch Ole Gunnar Solskjaer take charge of his first home game as Man United manager.
For the visit of Huddersfield, the caretaker boss has made three changes to the side that beat Cardiff, with Anthony Martial’s absence the result of illness.
Rooney, who scored a club record 253 goals for United between 2004 and 2017, was a team-mate of Solskjaer’s for three years before the Norwegian called time on his playing career in 2007.
Rooney, who now plays for Major League Soccer side DC United, is back in England for Christmas, with the 2019 MLS season not starting again until March.
And despite his legendary status at Old Trafford, he was still searched as he entered the stadium.
