Arsenal manager Unai Emery has said Mesut Ozil still has a future at the club.
Ozil has struggled for game time since Emery was appointed manager, and has appeared for just 20 minutes total since the middle of November.
He was snubbed earlier this week for their Carabao Cup defeat to Tottenham, with the head coach confirming it was a ‘tactical decision’.
Reports suggested that he could leave the club on a temporary basis when the transfer window opens next month.
However, in his pre-match press conference ahead of Arsenal’s match against Burnley on Saturday, Emery said Ozil still has a future at the club.
He said: “I want every player with a good mentality to help us and give us their characteristics and quality. We need Mesut Ozil.
“Every player wants to play and be okay to help the team when we need. The frustration is the same for everybody when they didn’t play in a match.
