It wasn’t just Tottenham Hotspur fans celebrating their Carabao Cup win against Arsenal last night – their former players did too.
A win over the Gunners always feels amazing and it carried even more weight after a 4-2 defeat just over two weeks ago and it sends Spurs into the semi-finals of the competition, where they will meet Chelsea.
One ex-Tottenham star overjoyed at the result was Jermaine Jenas – a man who loved a goal against Arsenal himself – and he filmed his reactions to the two goals on Instagram before revealing his sister had recorded him celebrating Dele Alli’s superb strike.
Jenas’ four goals and four assists against the Gunners was his best record against any club and he was positively purring about the strikes at the Emirates.
After silently posting Heung-Min Son’s effort to make it 1-0 on Instagram, he then put Alli’s delightful dink on social media.
“Man like Dele,” he can be heard saying before praising Harry Kane’s creative role. “Another assist from H, another assist. It’s beautiful, stop it. You can’t keep giving assists like this Harry, oh my God.”
And he later posted another video which his sister recorded of the moment Alli scored, where he ran across his living room before exclaiming ‘what a f***ing goal that is’.
