The owner of Marble Arch Hotel in Nairobi has been served with a 14-day notice to demolish part of the facility which the county government claims has encroached on a road.

HURLED ABUSES

On Thursday, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko, in a viral recorded phone conversation hurled abuses at the hotel owner, accusing him of using fake title deeds to get eviction notices to demolish residential houses in Kayole.

Late on Thursday evening Sonko made good his threats and demolished the tycoon’s hotel parking lot and toilets.

The demolition came just hours after Sonko announced that the government had stopped all demolition of illegal structures countrywide.
