After 11 months out with a broken leg, James McCarthy is almost set for a return but will miss the game with Tottenham, while Idrissa Gueye is a doubt.

Spurs, meanwhile, are likely to rotate in several positions as they manage their continuing injury crisis.

Jan Vertonghen (thigh), Eric Dier (appendicitis), Mousa Dembele (ankle), Serge Aurier (groin) and Victor Wanyama (knee) miss out but Harry Kane and Hugo Lloris should return to the team.
