Kath Phipps has been with the Red Devils since 1968 as the club’s receptionist and upon Solskjaer’s arrival at the training complex, the club legend handed her a gift.

Phipps was given a large bar of Melkesjokolade – a Norwegian chocolate – which she appeared delighted with (pictured below).

Manchester United fans will hope Solskjaer’s tenure as caretaker boss will bring similar smiles as he looks to bring the club out the slump brought about by former manager Jose Mourinho.

Solskjaer will take charge of his first match as caretaker manager on Saturday evening, against former club Cardiff.

talkSPORT will bring you full commentary of the clash LIVE from Wales, kick-off 5:30pm.
